Hello, I am Gargoyle Socks.

I recently came out as gay after 35 years of marriage and 3 kids. I’m embarking on a cross-country journey, moving from California to New England. I’ve been unemployed for the past year and decided to try to find employment where the cost of living is lower. I was born in Maine, so this is kind of a return of the prodigal son.

This blog will document that journey as well as the journey that I’m starting as a 50-something-year-old gay man. It serves as a substitute for my Facebook account where many don’t know of my life changes yet and even more who will not be supportive of those changes. This blog is for the people who already know what I’ve been going through and have demonstrated their support for me. 

Anyone else who wanders into The Sock Drawer is welcome, too.
